Kwapreneur is an empowerment and development program for Kwara-based Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises focused on enabling innovative business models and ideas to succeed. Kwapreneur aims to enable young Kwara entrepreneurs to turn their business ideas into full-fledged business models ready for investment.

The Kwapreneur Accelerator program is designed to equip startups with the skills, support and resources to achieve the following objectives:

  • Secure funding.
  • Refine product-market fit.
  • Effective book-keeping.
  • Growth hacking and marketing.

Yes, you can apply. However your business that will benefit from this program should be based in Kwara.

We treat each application data as confidential information. Because we see hundreds of applications and some of them include similar ideas, it is not practical for us to sign NDAs.

  • Kwara owned Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) that are operating in Kwara State, or Kwara Indigenes, physically based in Kwara with innovative ideas that are scalable.
  • Applicants between the ages of 18 and 35 years.
  • Minimum of SSCE certificate.

300 MSMEs based in Kwara will undergo a two (2) weeks virtual training, capacity building and advisory services to maximise inclusion and support MSMEs businesses owned and run by Kwarans.

We try our best to notify applicants at least 1 week before the program starts. Meanwhile, follow us on social media to keep up with updates and activities.

We are specifically looking for innovative and scalable business models and ideas that can create employment opportunities in the near future. Sectors such as Agro Processing, Manufacturing and Technology enabled business models.

All selected participants will receive a confirmation email detailing the program timetable and expectations. If selected, you will receive an email within a week after the close of call for application.

Although all selected participants are eligible for funding, the Makeathon pitch session is for the top 30 semi- finalists with the best business ideas and model. The top 15 finalist will be selected to participate in the Matheakon pitch day to pitch for the Gold (₦3,000,000), Silver (₦2,000,000) and Bronze (₦1,000,000) prizes. During this event, the 15 finalists will have the opportunity to present their products to a team of judges, who will select the winners of the different categories.

All selected participants that undergo the training program will qualify for the interest- free loan. Participants selection and seed funding is on assessment of business and idea viability.

All selected participants will undergo a 2 weeks capacity building, coaching and advisory workshop designed to equip businesses with the digital skills and support to significantly improve their financial and operational outcomes. At completion of the training, each participant can access the Kwapreneur loan.

Certificates will be issued upon completion of the training program.

No, the loan is interest-free with a moratorium period of 3 months and a loan repayment period of 18 months (inclusive of the moratorium period).
